DPS Jammu organized workshop Against Drugs Abuse.
Keeping in view the upcoming International Day Against Drug Abuse, falling on 26th June, DPS Jammu organized a workshop on Drugs for all drivers, conductors and support Staff of the school in its premises here today. The resource person was Mr. Satish Sharma, Intelligence officer from Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu Zonal Unit , MHRD, GOI.
The program commenced with a welcome song presented by the school choir and presentation of a bouquet by the Headmistress DPS Jammu Ms.Ruchi Chabra & Headmistress up to Middle Wing Ms. Meenu Gupta.
Mr. Sharma spoke in great detail on how and why people get attracted and then dependent on drugs -be it peer pressure, imitation or lack of acceptance by the society. Whatever the reason, the ultimate end is always death and devastation of the individual and society. Mr. Sharma enlighted on various medicinal and non-medicinal drugs, their types and properties and advised the participants to abstain from the usage of life threatening addictions. The workshop ended on a meaningful note “ Nasha Chodo Ya Saans Lena.”
Presenting the momento to Mr. Satish Sharma, Headmistress DPS Jammu Ms. Ruchi Chabra urged all participants to lead a healthier life for better India and to spread awareness of drug abuse in the society. Also present on the occasion were Mr. C.L. Malhotra, Administrator, Mr. S.S Jamwal-Chief General Manager Transport and Mr. R.C Gupta-Accounts Officer. The program was conducted and compered by Ms.Neeru Chopra.
Sh. S.S Sodhi Director, Delhi Public School, Jammu thanked Mr. Satish Sharma, Intelligence Officer for sparing his valuable time for making the school staff aware against the drug abuse which is utmost essential in present times to keep the people away from use of drugs.
