DPS Jammu in collaboration with JMC, Jammu began a week long program ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ today. The program started on 26th Sept. 2015 at 10:30am and will culminate on 02nd Oct, 2015. This program aims at making the people aware about the importance of cleanliness and making the nation clean and green. Principal DPS Jammu Ms. Ruchi Chabra announced the Adoption of Shahidi Chowk and its adjoining areas. The staff and students of DPS, Jammu also took part in the Abhiyan with great enthusiasm.
The program began at Raghunath Chowk, Jammu where all the participants of DPS Jammu and MCJ Jammu assembled alongwith other associates and took an oath for making Jammu city neat, clean and green. The function was graced by Hon’ble MLA Jammu East Sh. Rajesh Gupta Ji, Ms. Mandeep Kour, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Principal Delhi Public School, Jammu, Ms. Meenu Gupta H/M DPS Jammu and other VIPs, dignitaries and prominent citizens of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jammu East congratulated Management/Authorities of DPS Jammu and Municipal Corporation Authorities for taking a bold step in making the nation a ‘Swachh Nation’. A representative of Municipal Corporation and Ms. Manpreet Kour from DPS Jammu also delivered a detailed lecture on health and sanitation. Pamphlets for the making people aware about the cleanliness and sanitation were also distributed among the general public.
