Inter House Basket Ball Competition held at DPS, Jammu

Inter House Basket Ball Competition was organized by the department of Physical Education and Sports of Delhi Public School, Jammu in the school premises. Five houses namely Chenab, Ganga, Jehlum, Tawi and Yamuna house students participated in the said tournament. The tournament was organized to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and to develop the skill amongst the students.The Principal Ms. Ruchi Chabra was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Earlier in the Summit clash Jelhum house showed its supremacy and took the lead right from the beginning and clinched the title defeating Yamuna House by a margin of 2 points (17-15). The main scorer of Jehlum House was Mr. Arjun Jamwal who was also adjudged the man of the tournament. Arjun played brilliantly for Jehlum house while Akshit Gupta of Yamuna house also fought well to keep the moral up of his house and won 2nd place. The winners were felicitated in a special assembly organized in the school premises today.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Principal of the school praised the organizers and stated that such tournament are test platform to tap the skill of the players, enabling them to compete at National & International levels. She also stressed that players should actively participate in such type of events to be physically & mentally fit.
The matches were officiated by Mr. Sudesh Manhas, Mr. Yogesh Manhas and Ms. Amit Kour.
