DPS Jammu Students Shine in Essay Writing Competition.

Students of classes 9th and 10th from Delhi Public School, Jammu participated in All India Essay Writing Competition, 2015 organized by Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC). Around 50,000 students from fifty colleges and schools of Jammu Zone participated in the competition. Out of them Arya Razdan of class 10th from DPS, Jammu won a Gold Medal while Certificates of Merit (Hon’ble Mentions) were bagged by Karan Koul, Vadarbi Dhar of class 10th and Rakshit Sharma of class 9th. The participants were given the choice to write their essays in one of the 11 languages offered. The topic was Mann Ek Bartan Nahi Hai Jisse Bhara Jaana Hai, Balki Ek Jwala Hai Jis Se Prajwalit Kiya Jana Hai. ( The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled). All of them participated with great enthusiasm.
Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized by SRCM in collaboration with UNIC yesterday at Ram Chandra Mission Ashram at Sehora, Gole Gujral, Jammu. Shri Shisher Mishra, IPS DG Police J&K, the Hon’ble Chief Guest on the occasion, gave away the prizes to the winners.
Principal DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra congratulated the students and applauded them for their achievements. She also stated that having been selected for an award from among more than 50,000 participants is indeed very creditable for any student.
Sh. M.K. Ajat Shatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble President Rajput Charitable Trust, Jammu, Kunwarani Ritu Singh Ji, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chairperson DPS, Jammu and Sh. S.S. Sodhi ji, Hon’ble Director DPS Jammu also appreciated the efforts of the winners and congratulated them. They also wished them good luck for their future endeavours.
