DPS holds Inter House Chess Tournament

Inter house Chess Tournament, for Girls & Boys, Under- 17 was organized by the department of Physical Education and Sports at DPS Jammu in the School premises on the 12th of May 2016. Five teams Chenab, Jhelum, Ganga, Tawi and Yamuna houses participated in the said event. Earlier in the summit in the boys category, Tawi House took the lead right from the beginning and clinched the Grand Masters title by defeating Chenab house, similarly in the Girls, the final match was won by Yamuna house. The winners for the event were Navdeep Singh-Tawi house, 1st Position, Priyank Koul-Chenab house, 2nd Position. Similarly in Girls, Rimjin Bhat- Yamuna House, won the 1st Position and Aparna Sharma- Yamuna House got the 2nd Position.
Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest with the Medals and Merit certificates. She also congratulated the winners and told them to keep their spirit high for future endeavours. The matches were officiated by Mr. Sudesh Manhas & Mr. Shambu Dutt.
