Nurturing Empathy at DPS, Jammu

To nurture empathy for all creations of God and to help birds and animals fend off scorching summer heat. DPS Jammu organized Feeding Pot Activity for the students of class IV on 31st May 2016. These pots were created by the students using coconut shells, plastic bottles etc. and decorated with colourful material and ribbons. The activity was organized to encourage students to develop a habit to keep a vessel full of water for birds and animals round the year especially in Summer when over 60% of urban birds die due to dehydration.

Interacting with the students, Principal Ms Ruchi Chabra, highlighted the importance of such initiatives for students. She along with Headmistress and staff members joined the students in hanging the feeding pots on the trees. Headmistress Ms Meenu Gupta while appreciating the students efforts stated that such activities are important to foster empathy and caring for students.
