DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL CLINCHES CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY IN INTER SCHOOL LITERERY COMPETITION

Delhi Public School, Jammu won Championship Trophy in Inter School Literary Competition “THESPIAN-2016-17” organized by K.C.International School, Jammu, on 30th July 2016, in which 14 schools from all over the Jammu province participated. In the Inter School Drama Category, the students of DPS Jammu won 2nd Prize for “The Merchant of Venice” performed by them. While the Best Actress award went to Vanshee Koul-XI E, who played ‘Portia’ & the Best Supporting Actor to Sidhant Pandita-XI B, who portrayed the Jew ‘Shylock’. The other actors were Alamgir Khanna-XI H, Saiba Sheikh-X A, Soheila Sharma- XI I, Rameshwar Dalmotra-X A and Ashutosh Kumar – XI F. In the Inter School Declamation Category, Mahavir Singh-XI B, won the first prize for representing Carl Sagan, the Astrophysicist, on the topic ‘A Pale Blue Dot’. Mahavir received a rare standing ovation from the audience for his remarkable performance.

Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms Ruchi Chabra, congratulated all the winners, their parents for the outstanding achievement. Hon’ble President RCT, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, Hon’ble PVC Kunwrani Ritu Singh and Hon’ble Director Mr. S S Sodhi also lauded the participants & conveyed their best wishes for all future endeavours. The team was guided by English Teachers Ms Manpreet Kour and Ms Poonam Chattoo.
