DPS JAMMU ORGANISED INTER HOUSE SWIMMING TOURNAMENT

The Inter House Boys & Girls Swimming Tournament was organized by the Sports Department of the School. The two day tournament was concluded on 31st August 2016. It was organized in an endeavour to promote the level of Sports & Games among the students of the School, in which five houses namely Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Tawi and Yamuna participated. Each house put up an extraordinary performance. The competition was held in different age categories. In U/14 ( Boys & Girls), the Gold medal winners were Divyan VII-I, Divyansh VIII-B, Jaitej VI-E, Siya Singh VIII-E, Vaniya VI-A. In U/17 ( Boys & Girls), the Gold medal winners were Zorawar IX-A, Bhuvendeep IX-E, Chirag X-A, Sehjan IX-A. In U/19 (Boys & Girls), the Gold medal winners were Sidhant XII-B, Ritik XI-C, Tamisha XI-J, and Sukhmit XI-D. In U/12 (Girls), Suditi V- H won Gold, Shambhavi IV- G won Silver and Sheen V-C won Bronze Medal. In addition to above, 14 students won silver medals and 9 students won bronze medals. The Overall trophy was shared between the two houses Ganga and Yamuna.
Ms Ruchi Chabra, Principal, congratulated the winners and all the participants for their brilliant showcase of the skills and techniques. Ms. Meenu Gupta, Headmistress stressed that the students should participate more & more to inculcate sportsmanship among them.
Hon’ble President RCT, M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC DPS Jammu, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director DPS Jammu Mr. S S Sodhi also conveyed their best wishes to all the participants, particularly the winners.
