DPS, JAMMU ORGANISES A WORKSHOP ON PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT & GENDER SENSTIVITY

DPS Jammu organized a workshop on Personality Development and Gender Senstivity for the teachers in which 100 faculty members of Delhi Public Schools Katra, Nagbani and Jammu participated. The workshop was conducted by renowned personality development trainer Ms. Himani Mittal. The proceedings of the workshop started with the introduction by Ms. Naveent Oberoi followed by the presentation of a bouquet by the Principal DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra and the Principal DPS Nagbani Mr. Rajkumar, to the resource person. Speaking on the occasion Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra welcomed the resource person and delivered a key note address on “Making a Difference as DPS teachers”. She spoke at length about Excellence, Engagement and Ethics required by teachers to enable their personalities speak for themselves, before they do. She emphasized upon teachers’ own preparedness to influence their pupils lives everlastingly.
The First session of the workshop entitled “Personality Development”, began with an elaborate Power Point Presentation by Ms. Himani Mittal, followed by open session in which questions were asked and replied for the benefit of the participants. Workshop sessions were oriented to crucial issues including Motivation, Classroom Management, Stress Management, Life Skills, Lesson Planning, Time Management and Communication Skills. The interaction was very lively and the teachers took great interest in the activities such Communication Skill activity and Deck of Cards activity, conducted by the resource person.
The second session was focused on the topic “Gender Sensitivity”. The resource person dwelt on the awareness of gender equality concerns. She briefed about various sensitization campaigns and programmes that need to be taken up to address this issue. She highlighted the role of a teacher in Gender Empowerment and said that modification of the behaviour of Teachers and Parents towards children has long lasting effect on bringing about gender equality at home and school front.
Summing up the session, the Headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta briefly outlined the importance of Personality Development and Gender Senstivity. She stressed on the teachers to be innovative and self confident. She said that introspection by the teachers improves their performance as well as brings out the best in the students.
Later, the resource person was presented a memento by the Principal. It was followed by distribution of prizes to the teachers, who excelled in the various activities conducted by the resource person. The workshop culminated with the presentation of the vote of thanks by the Chief Coordinator, Mr. Umesh Sharma.
Hon’ble President RCT, M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director Sh. S S Sodhi appreciated the initiative and also conveyed their best wishes to all participants.
