DPS Jammu organises Inter-House Group Song Competition

Delhi Public School, Jammu organised an ‘Inter-House Group Song Competition’ in its premises for classes IX to XII. The theme of the event was ‘My Mother and me-An undefined relation’. Five Houses of the school namely Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Tawi, Yamuna took part in the competition. Sh. B.S Bali (Former Principal, I.M.F.A, Jammu) was the Chief Guest while Sh. SurajSingh (Incharge of Vocal Music Department, I.M.F.A, Jammu) was the judge of the event. The first position was bagged by Chenab House, 2nd position was clinched by Jhelum House while Yamuna House stood 3rd.
A prize distribution was also held for the essay writing competition which was held on 6th May, 2017 in which students of IX to XII class were involved in writing essays on the theme-‘My Mother My World’. The students were told to spend an evening with their Mothers and pen down their experience in the form of essay writing. Following students recieved prizes :
1. First position - Sherin Ashfaq Lone IX H.
2. Second position – Sarthak Pathania IX B.
3. Third Position – Saujanya Raj IX A.
4. First consolation – Lakshay Gandotra IX E.
5. Second Consolation – Kashish Chopra IX F.
6. First position – Maheep Jain X D.
7. Second Position – Sheen Bhatt X E.
8. Third Position – Baeine Sharma X D.
9. First consolation – Arpita X D.
10. Second consolation – Piya Vaid X A.
11. First Position – Rabia Choudhary XI E.
12. Third Position – Ridhima Gupta XI F.
13. First consolation - Shreya Sawhney XI A.
14. Second consolation – Rupal Sharma XI E.
15. First Position – Mollie Sadashiv Puri XII I.
16. Second Position – Nitiya Sehgal XII E.
17. Third Position – Diksha Gupta XII H.

The winners were felicitated with the certificates during the event in which the Mothers of the shortlisted studentd were also invited. The students read out their essays in front of their Mothers and later the Mother were honoured with momentoes and crowns titled " world's best mother". Special Mothers from Old Age Home were also present and were honoured with the gifts.
Principal DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra said the whole purpose of this event was to make the children of DPS realise the importance of family and bonding. She also stated that children should take it as their life long duty to support,value, love and respect their mothers.
