DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU HONOURS J&K POLICE WITH RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

To honour the sacrifices and bravery of the J&K Police, DPS Jammu organized Raksha Bandhan celebration at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu here today. About sixty students presented a colourful programme, tied sacred Rakhi threads on the wrists of the police officials and distributed sweets among them. In return, the police officials showered their blessings and assured their little sisters of every help and full protection throughout their life.
The Chief Guest Dr. S.D Singh (IPS), Inspector General of Police, Jammu presided over the function which was also graced by around 200 police officers of different ranks, besides staff and students of DPS Jammu. The function began with the auspicious lighting of the traditional lamp and invocation to Lord Ganesha through a classical dance performance by the school children. This was followed by patriotic group song ‘Hum Punjabi Hum Bengali’, a sufi song ‘Main hamd karun’ and a soul-stirring skit ‘Mera kya kasoor?’ touching upon the various aspects of a policeman’s life. The splendid performances depicted the integrity and dignity of the police forces and won the repeated applause from the audience.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Principal, DPS Jammu, who lauded the dedicated efforts of J&K Police towards people of the state.
Sh. S.S Sodhi, Hon’ble Director DPS Jammu thanked Dr. S.D Singh (IPS) IGP, Jammu, for gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest and for making suitable arrangements for its success. Further, citing the examples of Hon’ble DGP, J&K, Sh. S.P Vaid (IPS) and Hon’ble ADGP, Security, J&K-Sh. Dilbagh Singh (IPS), who are known for their exemplary actions an human concerns, Sh. S.S Sodhi remarked that their actions represent big heart of brothers for their many sisters. He further said that as the festival also symbolizes bonds of mutual support and protection within families and societies, as such, the student community will readily support any venture of the police, marked for the good of the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S.D Singh, congratulated the management, staff and students of DPS Jammu for the magnificent show presented by them. He assured safety and security to all citizens and stated that all of us should respect every woman and her dignity. Sh. C.L Malhotra (Administrator) and Sh. Karandeep Singh (Manager-Operations) from DPS Jammu and Sh. Raj Kumar Verma, Principal, DPS Nagbani were also present on the occasion.
The cultural program was anchored by Aashiya Iqbal (X) and Tarini Magotra (VIII) while the vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Manpreet Kour from DPS Jammu.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji also conveyed their best wishes to all brothers and sisters on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and wished all officials of J&K Police a happy, prosperous and long life.
