DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU CELEBRATED 71ST INDEPENDENCE DAY

DPS Jammu celebrated 71st Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm on 15th Aug. 2017 in the school premises. The program began with the hoisting of National Flag by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble President, Rajput Charitable Trust and Member Legislative Council, J&K. He was accompanied by Hon’ble Guest of Honour, Sh. S.S Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu and Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Principal, DPS Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji recalled the supreme sacrifices and struggles made by the freedom fighters particularly by the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and many others. He also lauded the efforts made by the Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi for building a strong nation.
To mark the glory of peace and freedom, a set of pigeons were released by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. This was followed by a colourful cultural programme presented by the staff members which included a classical dance performance, instrumental jugal bandi on Violin & Guitar, group & duet songs, which charged everyone with patriotic zeal.
The programme was anchored by Ms. Aditi Raj Sharma and Ms. Neha Mahajan.
