DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU HOLDS INVESTITURE CEREMONY

DPS Jammu held its 19th Investiture Ceremony "Sankalp Se Netratv Ki Aur" with great zeal and enthusiasm on 26th August, 2017 in the school premises.
Sh. Dilbagh Singh, DGP, J&K was the Chief Guest for the event, while the guests of honour were Md. Yasin Chaudhary, IAS and Asstt Secretary, Ministry of Renewable Energy, Govt of India, New Delhi ( School Alumni), Sh. Kuldeep Singh,President, J&K Rifle Association and Dr. Kirti Bhushan Sharma Medical Superintendent, Jammu.

The event commenced with the Ganesha Vandana, a scintillating bharatnatyam performance, by the girls of classes VIII & IX which was followed by the decoration ceremony, wherein the distinguished guests conferred ceremonial sashes and and badges upon the newly inducted student cabinet -2017-18, and also honoured the school alumni for their achievements and keeping the school flag high.

The welcome address was delivered by the Principal DPS Jammu, Ms Ruchi Chabra, who also administered the oath to the school cabinet, which was followed by the address by the Headboy- Rajshri and the Head Girl- Rajnandini.

Thereafter, the students mesmerized the audience with a presentation of a Sufi song and the DPS song, which won the standing ovation from the audience.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the school staff for making a mark in J&K and all over India, for quality education. He also recalled some of his personal life experiences, that motivated the audience deeply.

The Guest of Honour, Md. Yasin Chaudhary, IAS, recollected his days spent in his alma mater and attributed his sucess to the school. He also shared many useful tips on leading a successful life with the newly inducted school cabinet.This was followed by the memento felicitation ceremony of the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Sh. S. S. Sodhi, Director, DPS Jammu, who highlighted the role of the DPS Society and particularly, of the parents, in the growth of their children. He also thanked the alumni for their immense contribution over the years, in making DPS Jammu scale newer hieghts of success.

Earlier, the Alumni report was read by the Deputy Headmaster, Mr. Ravi Kotroo and Ms. Neeraj Kaila, while the programme was anchored by Aashiya Iqbal and Tarini Mangotra of Classes X & VIII respectively, along with the teachers Ms. Manpreet Kour and Ms. Neha Mahajan , the senior faculty of the school.
The function ended with the National Anthem.

Sh. MK Ajat Shatru Singh, President RCT and Kr Ritu Singh, PVC, DPS Jammu, extended their best wishes to all parents and school alumni for their proud avhievements.
