DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL JAMMU HOLDS SPECIAL ASSEMBLY TO CELEBRATE “EID-UL-AZHA”

Delhi Public School organized a special assembly to celebrate the festival “Eid-ul-Azha”on 1.9.2017. The assembly began with the school prayer followed by Naat (a traditional Muslim Prayer) by the school choir.
The students then presented a mesmerizing Sufi Qawali “Main Hamd Karun, Teri Tarif Karun”, in praise and appreciation of God, written and composed by senior music faculty, Mr. Jai Paul Gill. The Qawali enchanted and soothed the soul of everyone.
While addressing the assembly, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, elucidated the meaning of Eid-ul-Azha i.e., “Feast of Sacrifice”. Emphasizing on the importance of this occasion, she wished that each and every aspect of our life strengthens and we are inspired to walk on right path in our life. Later, she also felicitated the winners of the Inter-State School Table-Tennis State Championship, J&K, 2017 with Trophies, Medals and Certificates.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also congratulated the students and their families on this auspicious occasion and stressed on the need to lead a life based on the principles of “Unity in Diversity”.
The assembly was anchored by Devansh Bhalla of IX –B and Nishtha Malhotra of XI-H while the vote of thanks was presented by the House Warden, Ganga House, Ms. Sonu Sharma. The special assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwarani Ritu Singh and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji also wished a happy Eid-Ul-Azha to students, parents, staff and their families.
