DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU ORGANIZES WORKSHOP FOR THE SCHOOL FACULTY

A workshop on the topic ‘Evaluation for Improving Pupil Performance’ was organized on 9th Sept. 2017 at DPS Jammu. The workshop was started with the lamp lighting ceremony by Respected Principal, Headmistress and the Co-ordinators. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Shivani Vaid Sharma along with her colleagues namely Ms. Anu Bali, Ms. Sangeeta Jain, Ms. Dheeraj Thakur and Mr. Ashwani Bakshi, who had earlier attended the workshop on similar topic organized by The Delhi Public School Society at HRD Centre, Dwarka, New Delhi.
The workshop was attended by around hundred teachers of Mathematics, English, Hindi, Social Science and Science department. In the first phase, the Resource Persons discussed about different kinds of Assessment tools and Techniques. The focus was laid upon the preparation of the balanced and well- thought out question paper to persuade students to locate the most relevant answers.
In the second phase of the workshop, a practical session for framing of the question papers and preparing blue prints was organized within the concerned departments with the help of the Resource persons who very efficiently and patiently guided all the teachers.
Earlier in her address, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra emphasized on need of a ‘pencil –like’ teacher who is focused like a strong inner graphite, leaving the lifelong mark on a child’s life. She also expressed the need to bridge the gap between teaching and testing so that a balanced question paper catering to the level of examinees could bet set.
Ms. Anu Bali conducted the concluding session of the workshop where the subject co-ordinators and other faculty members shared their views on the challenges faced while preparing the balanced question papers. This was followed by the address of Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta who congratulated the teachers for displaying exceptional zeal and energy while framing question papers and in sharing their views about the workshop.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji congratulated the staff for organizing such a fruitful workshop and extended their best wishes to all.
