DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU ORGANIZES “HINDI DIWAS”

DPS Jammu organized a special assembly to celebrate “Hindi Diwas” on 14th Sept. 2017 with great fervour. The assembly began with the school prayer followed by pledge. The school choir then presented a song depicting the rich culture and literary history of the language. A student of class VIII-C, Khushi Soni spoke on the importance of Hindi language and also reminded us the time when Hindi language declared as our National Language by the constitution.
The prime attraction of the celebration was ‘Hindi Kavya Ghoshti’ in which students of the middle wing enthralled the audience with their impressive presentation of the poems on ‘Veer Ras’, ‘Haasya Ras’, Bhakti Ras’, etc. The poems of noted poets like Mahadevi Verma, Sumitranandan Pant, Jaishankar Prasad, Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan, etc. were selected by them.
In her address, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra urged everyone to take pride in their National language Hindi and advised the teachers to make its teaching & learning more interesting in order to motivate the students. Later, she also felicitated the winners of different sports competitions.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta while speaking on the importance of Hindi language stressed that we should all work together to get Hindi language back to its respectable place.
The assembly was anchored by Soham Kamotra of VIII-D and Divya Gupta of VIII-C, while the vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Rama Gupta, Vice House Warden, Ganga House. The special assembly concluded with the National Anthem and the group photographs of the winners and the participants.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to all on Hindi Diwas.
