DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY

International Peace Day was celebrated in DPS Jammu on 21st September, 2017 to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflicts and promote peace. A special assembly and a peace rally were organized on this occasion. The assembly was started with a special prayer followed by the school choir presenting a peace song in their melodious voice giving the message of peace.
Students presented their views on the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in the society and laid stress on how each one of us can play an important role in achieving it. This was followed by the recitation of poems in English and Hindi which were self composed by the students. A group of students presented a beautiful dance which enthralled the audience.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta addressed the assembly explaining the relevance of peace and non-violence in recent times. She further added that aim of celebrating this day is to strengthen the ideals of peace within and among all nations and all people.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra reminded students how they too can play an important part in the planetary progress towards maintaining and promoting peace. She further added that it is a day of global ceasefire and non-violence. She appreciated the effort of students in preparing for the celebration of this special day.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji conveyed their best wishes on the occasion and urged everyone to maintain peace with love and dignity to make a world a better place to live in.
