DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU CELEBRATES DUSSEHRA FESTIVAL AND GANDHI JAYANTI

DPS Jammu organized a special assembly on the occasion of Dussehra festival and Gandhi Jayanti. The assembly began with the floral tributes paid to the Father of Nation ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ who preached peace, truthfulness and non-violence and finally achieved India’s independence after great struggle with Britishers. This was followed by Gandhi Ji’s favourite bhajans “Vaishnav Jan” and “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram.”
On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra festival, the student anchors of class II Jeena Nuryn and Shaunish Vaid spoke about the importance of this festival and stated that it was the victory of good over evil. A group dance was also presented by the Pre-Primary students depicting the mythological characters of Shri Ram Chandra Ji, Laxman Ji and Mata Sita Ji with Shri Hanuman Ji which attracted the attention of the audience. A scene from Ramayana was enacted by class II students which ended with Ravana-Dahan and reinforced the message that ‘good always triumphs over evil.’
While highlighting the importance of these festivals, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra blessed the participants and students, inspiring them to follow the path of truth, beauty and goodness. Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta blessed the students for their bright future. The event culminated under the supervision of co-ordinators, Ms. Sangeeta Jain, Ms. Preeti Abrol and teacher incharge, Ms. Pooja Sharma.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Shabana Rahil which was followed by the recitation of National Anthem.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji conveyed their best wishes on the occasions of Dussehra festival and Gandhi Jayanti to all the students and staff of the school and also blessed them for their bright future.
