DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL JAMMU HOLDS SPECIAL ASSEMBLY TO CELEBRATE “GURUPURAB”

Delhi Public School organized a special assembly to celebrate the festival “Gurupurab” on 3rd November, 2017. The assembly began with the Floral Tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji followed by the school prayer.
The students then presented a mesmerizing “SHABAD KIRTAN”, in praise and glory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which enchanted and soothed the soul of everyone.
The thought of day was given by Diya Daffara & Shivansh Kohli of class VIII-D while a speech on Life & Teachings of Shri Guru Nanank Dev Ji was delivered by Muskan Mahajan of class VIII-D.
While addressing the assembly, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, elucidated the meaning of “Gurupurab.” She highlighted some qualities of the Sikhism worth emulating, such as truthfulness, thoughtfulness and tenacity. She also felicitated the winners of different Inter DPS & Inter Distt. Competitions.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also spoke on the occasion and stressed on the need to lead a life based on the preachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The assembly was anchored by Ria Sharma of VIII D and Janya Kaur of VI E while the vote of thanks was presented by the Vice House Warden, Tawi House, Ms. Anuradha Anand. The special assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwarani Ritu Singh and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji also wished a Happy Gurupurab to students, parents, staff and their families.
