DPS JAMMU CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL EARTH WEEK

Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated Environmental Earth Week Earth Day by observing 'Earth Week' from 16-20 April in the school premises . Students from class Pre-Nursery to class XII actively participated in various activities focussed on environmental issues.
Tiny Tots of class Nursery, Prep and I were involved in sack/ finger printing work and poster making while little angel of class II to V participated in Intra- class calligraphy competition , with relevant passages in prose and poetry on environmental themes.
In order to highlight harms of deforestation and need to increase Green cover, 'Upvan Drive' was launched during the celebrations. Students and staff planted different kind of following Medicinal and Ornamental plants. Earlier students took the Environment pledge and also visited the School's Green House to experience a direct connect with the nature . Paper bag and poster making Activities were organized for classes VI-VIII, who were also involved in On-the-Spot- Essay writing competition.
An inter house skit competition organized for classes VIII, which was judged by Mr. Sanjeev Gupta, eminent theater artist and Manager Abhinav Theatre. Each skit revolved around the state of our planet and sensitized everyone about the importance of saving the environment. Students of class IX to XII were involved in intra -class panel discussion, Essay and Story writing competitions based on different environmental themes.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra congratulated the students and staff for successful celebration of the Earth Week and urged all to take all possible steps to save mother Earth. Headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta also elaborated on the responsibilities of a Green Citizen.
Hon'ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon'ble Pro-Vice Chairperson DPS Jammu, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon'ble Director DPS Jammu, Sh. S. S. Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to all on the occasion of the International Earth Day.
