DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU ORGANIZES SUMMER CAMP VALEDICTORY FUNCTION

An 8-day long Summer Camp at DPS Jammu concluded today with special assembly, art exhibition, Students Vs Teachers friendly match and a cooling Rain Dance. Around 450 Campers learned many new things during the Summer Camp through their participation in several activities , sports and clubs such as Theatre, Music, Swimming, NCC, Prayas Club, Eco Club, IT Club, English Conversation, Pottery & Clay modeling, Stitching, Cook without Fire, Shooting, Basket Ball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Speed Ball, Badminton, Skating, Taekwondo, Art & Craft. Additionally, students of Eco Club visited Manda Zoo to study various features of Flora & Fauna and animal habitats. They also took an active part in the World Environment Day activities including Plantation Drive. Further, literacy & vocational classes were also organized for around 45 children from the marginalized sections of the society by NCC students and the school faculty. They were also involved in theatre, yoga, music, rain dance, Art & Craft and presenting assemblies on the school stage. Their ‘Choir’ performance and Skit presentation on-‘Say No to Drugs’ during the function won much applause. During the said function, Kashish Choudhary, NCC Cadet of class XII presented a report on Prayas Club activities, while Ms. Saniya Malik and Ms. Tanvi Gupta presented a detailed report on the Summer Camp for the school students. The teachers and students were felicitated with certificates, while Prayas group learners were given gifts and prizes as a token of appreciation & encouragement. Later during the day, a friendly Volley Ball Match-Students Vs Teachers was organized, which was won by the students. The day ended with shaking legs to the tune of thundering music played during the Rain Dance, enjoyed by all.
Addressing the gathering, Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra said that Summer Camp provided a great learning opportunity for the Campers to gain new insights into many things and she urged the students to share this knowledge with family and friends.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta thanked all the faculty members for their sincerity, hard work and dedication. The special assembly came to an end with the National Anthem and March Past on tune played by All Girls Pipe Band.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji congratulated the faculty members and the Campers for the successful conduct of the Summer Camp activities and wished them all happy, productive and safe vacations.
