The India International Friendship Society, New Delhi has conferred the prestigious Bharat Jyoti Award upon Sh. S.S. Sodhi, PVC/ Director DPS Schools J&K & Chairman, JKICS, New Delhi for his Outstanding Services, Achievements and Contributions along with a Certificate of Excellence in recognition for his glorious 25 years of meritorious service and contribution to the nation in Social, Educational and Charitable fields.

The award was presented by Lt. Governor K. M. Seth, former Governor, Chhattisgarh and Tripura in a glittering award ceremony held today during the ongoing seminar on 'Economic Growth and National Integration' at India International Centre, New Delhi. Among the other prominent dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Indian Economist, MP Rajya Sabha and Justice Sunita Gupta.

The Bharat Jyoti award is bestowed upon individuals specialised in various fields like science and technology, education, industry, fine arts, politics and social works. Several luminaries such as Mother Teresa, former CBI director Joginder Singh, Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Union & Cabinet Ministers, prominent Sports and film personalities have been the recipients of this prestigious award.

Speaking on the occasion Sh. S.S. Sodhi said, “I am humbled that my efforts have been recognized and honoured at such a big platform. My life’s motto and passion is to serve the society whichever way I can. I like doing it and would continue to do so in future as well.’
