RIDHIMA OF DPS JAMMU WINS PRIZE IN INTERNATIONAL LETTER WRITING COMPETITION

Ridhima Anand (VIII-H) of Delhi Public School, Jammu brought laurels to the J&K State and her institution by winning a consolation prize in the 2018 International Letter-Writing Competition For Young People organized by the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle. The topic of the letter writing was “Imagine you are a letter travelling through time. What message do you wish to convey to your readers?” Participants were judged on the basis of correctness of language, coherence-logical development, originality of the ideas, style of writing, theme and format of the letter. Out of around 2 Lakh students who participated, Ridhima is the only participant from J&K State to win consolation prize in the said competition.
In the felicitation ceremony held in the school today, Ridhima was awarded a cheque of Rs. 1000/- and a Certificate of Excellence by the Chief Guest Sh. Jagdish Raj Angural. Addressing the students, Sh. Jagdish informed about various other competitions and schemes floated by the Postal Department. He also encouraged the students to take part in the same.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra congratulated Ridhima and her proud parents for the achievement. She encouraged students to develop their writing skills and power of expression. Also present on the occasion was Headmistress, DPS Jammu, Ms. Meenu Gupta. She said that Ridhima’s achievement would certainly act as a motivation for other students to excel in the similar activities in future.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to Ridhima Anand and her parents.
