DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU HOLDS INVESTITURE CEREMONY

DPS Jammu held its 20th Investiture Ceremony “Sankalp Se Netratv Ki Aur” 2018-19 with great pomp and show on 30th Aug. 2018 in the school premises. Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS) Deputy Commissioner, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The event was attended by around 2500 students and 100 teachers from the middle and senior wings of the school.
All the dignitaries, escorted by NCC Cadets, were accorded a formal welcome. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra presented a potted plant to the Chief Guest as a gesture of gratitude to welcome him in the auspicious ceremony.
The event commenced with the DPS Song followed by the Decoration Ceremony of 70 students holding different offices of the School Council and Prefects, who presented an exemplary March Past to the tune of the School Band. They took pledge to uphold the school motto ‘Service Before Self’ in high esteem and to deliver their duties to the best of their abilities with trust bestowed upon them.
The Chief Guest, Sh. Ramesh Kumar (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Jammu congratulated the school cabinet and in his address emphasized on the importance of pursuing what one is capable of and exhorted the students to carry out their duties with sincerity, dedication and commitment.
The Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra advised the members of the Students Council to act honestly, diligently and responsibly. She also administered the oath to the newly appointed Cabinet.
Earlier, a mesmerizing Bharatnatyam performance ‘Tribute to Tagore’ was also presented by the students of classes IX, XI & XII.
Also present on the occasion were Principal, DPS Nagbani, Mr. Raj Kumar Verma, Headmistress, DPS Jammu, Ms. Meenu Gupta, Administrator, DPS Jammu, Mr. C.L Malhotra, Manager
(Operations), Mr. Karandeep Singh, Accounts officer, Mr. R.C Gupta, Chief Security Officer, Mr. M.L Mehra, Deputy Headmaster, Mr. Ravi Kotroo and Chief Coordinator, Mr. Umesh Kumar Sharma.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Meenu Gupta, Headmistress, DPS Jammu, while the whole programme was anchored by Saksham Sharma & Vasudha Sharma of class XII-J along with Ms. Aditi Sharma and Ms. Neha Mahajan.
The ceremony ended with the National Anthem.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji congratulated all the members of the School Council and encouraged them to be at their best and take the school to new heights.
