SOHAM KAMOTRA OF DPS JAMMU SELECTED FOR WORLD YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP-2019

Soham Kamotra of class IX, a child prodigy of DPS Jammu has brought laurels to his school and his parents having being selected to represent India in the upcoming World Youth Chess Chamiponship-2019.
Earlier, in July, Soham was selected to participate in the National Sub-Junior Chess Championship held in Kolkata. Out of the total 320 players, Soham secured 17th rank and was among the top 20 players selected for the World Youth Chess Championship. Soham has also played Delhi International Chess tournament and Commonwealth Chess Championship and is one of the highest rated Chess players of J&K state.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra felicitated Soham with a gold medal for his exceptional achievement in the special assembly and extended her best wishes to him.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also applauded Soham for his excellent achievement.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji congratulated Soham and his parents for his selection in the World Youth Chess Championship and extended their best wishes for his future endeavours.
