DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU CELEBRATES GURUPURAB

On the eve of Gurupurab, a grand function was organized by Delhi Public School, Jammu in the school premises. A large number of students from different Houses participated in it. It was celebrated with great fervour. The life history and preachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji were highlighted. A Shabad Kirtan was also presented by the students. The children recited the Bhajans with devotion as a mark of respect to Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The students came dressed up as Panj Pyaras enchanted slogans ‘Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal’.
With a strong belief in communal harmony, the spirit of Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi was also celebrated through divine rendition of Naat. The whole school was immersed in the diversified enchanting that raised the spirit of everyone present there.
To provide multilingual exposure to students in Indian languages, the school initiated ‘Bhasha Sangam’-a celebration of Linguistic Diversity of India, an initiative of MHRD, Dept. of School Education and Literacy, Govt. of India. Deputy Headmaster, Mr. Ravi Kotroo familiarized the students with simple dialogues in different languages listed in schedule VIII of Constitution of India.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra threw light on the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and inspired students to serve humanity and face the challenges of life bravely through truthfulness, tenacity and thoughtfulness.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also apprised the students about teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and emphasized on following the path of universal peace and brotherhood.
The festival bonanza was concluded with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Anil Dogra, House Warden, Ganga House which was followed by instrumental National Anthem.
Also present on the occasion were Sh. C.L Malhotra, Administrator, Mr. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Chief Coordinator and other School Coordinators.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to the students and staff on the occasion of Gurupurab.
