Christmas was celebrated in DPS Jammu on 21st December, 2018 with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was also organized on the occasion. In keeping with the mood of celebration, the stage and school were artistically adorned with Christmas tree, Candy Canes, Mistletoes and Holly leaves creating a heavenly ambience.
The Special Assembly began with the school prayer by Shivika Jamwal of class I and thought of the day presented by Vinaya Gupta of class I. Students ushered the Christmas spirit with soul stirring rendition of age old carols and nativity scene showcasing the birth of Prince of Peace, the real essence of Christmas. They beautifully created a scene of what happened thousands of years ago. Young dancers of Nursery and Prep class further heralded the festive mood by merrily dancing on the tune of “We wish you a merry Christmas”. Carrying forward the upbeat festivity happiness with utmost zeal, vigour and energy were the students of class II and IV performing their respective dances and there by bringing the audience on their feet with happiness.
Faris of class I spoke eloquently about the beautiful festival of Christmas and Lord Jesus Christ. Then the Santa Claus arrived with jingling bells and showering gifts and goodness.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra exhorted the students to be the little ambassadors of peace and goodwill. She praised the efforts put in by the students and emphasized to make this Christmas special by kindling the flame of Charity and making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate ones.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta while wishing all the joy of the blessed season also urged the students to learn the art of loving, giving and forgiving by becoming Santas for others. The whole event was compered by Ms. Pooja Sharma, school faculty. The Special Assembly concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their wishes on the occasion of Christmas to Students and staff.
