DPS JAMMU CELEBRATES MOTHER’S DAY

Mother’s Day was celebrated with great zeal and vigour at Delhi Public School, Jammu on 10th & 11th May, 2019 with a mesmerizing special assembly and a get-together of Mothers of tiny toddlers on the occasion.
The tiny-tots under the guidance of their teachers extended a warm welcome to their mothers with Tilak Ceremony and presented them a token appreciation of a handmade garland with a pendant titled ‘I love my mom’. The welcome address was presented by the Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra who urged mothers to invest in their children’s future effectively in order to prepare them for future. There were many fun-filled games organized for the mothers and children such as balloon writing, Lemon Picking, Talent Show, Pasta-strings, Dancing, etc. which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The tiny-tots presented colourful cultural programs dedicated to their mothers. A ‘Selfie-Counter’ and ‘Sun-shine Board’ also attracted great attention.
A day prior to the function, the school organized a Special Assembly conducted by Jhelum House, which started with invoking the blessings of God through prayer followed by group song ‘Do Lafzon me kaise keh doon Maa’ composed by Mr. Jai Paul and a mime act titled ‘Aisi hoti hai Maa’, directed by Mr. Suresh Kumar. Further, subtle and emotional dance performances by the students dedicated to the love, warmth and compassion of a Mother, won huge applause from the audience. The dances were choreographed by Ms. Shalini Pradhan & Ms. Ritu Dogra.
Ms. Meenu Gupta, Headmistress reminded students about their duty towards the mothers to whom we owe our existence and also extended her wishes on the occasion.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra sensitized the children about their life-long debts for their Mothers, Gurus (teachers) and Mother Earth. The compering on Day one was done by Nadia Zareen (IX-D) and Aiman (XI-G) while the vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Roma Bakshi, House Warden, Jhelum House. The compering on Day two was done by Ms. Pooja Langeh and Ms. Monika Gupta while the vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Richa Gupta (Academic Coordinator-Pre Primary wing).
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to all on the special occasion of Mothers Day.
