Delhi Public School, Jammu organized Inter-House Chess Tournament for Senior Girls, dedicating the rolling trophy of the event to Jaiveer Singh Gujral, a chess prodigy of the school who lost life in a tragic road mishap last year.
Girls of all five houses of the school namely, Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Tawi and Yamuna took part in the said tournament in which Ganga House stood 1st, Jhelum House 2nd while the 3rd position was bagged by Chenab House. The top 4 positions in the tournament went to:
• Bhoomi Thapar (XI-H) – 1st prize, Ganga House
• Aakriti Gupta (XII-D) & Shriya Sharma (X-J) – 2nd & 3rd prize, Jhelum House
• Ridhima Gupta (X-J) – 4th prize, Chenab House
The children and the House Warden of Ganga House received trophies from the parents of Jaiveer Mrs. Gurmeet Kour Gujral & Mr. Taranvir Singh Gujral who extended their best wishes to the winners and their coach, Mr. Sudesh Manhas.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra and Headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta, too congratulated the winners.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji conveyed their best wishes to the winners and their parents.
