DPS JAMMU ORGANIZES WATER CONSERVATION DAY

Water in India is a scarce resource and yet its wastage sees no end. To create awareness
and the realizing the need to conserve water, Delhi Public School, Jammu organized ‘Water
Conservation Day’ on 19 th December, 2019 under the aegis of CBSE HPE (SEWA Activity)
for the students of class XII. The event began with two documentary films on ‘Water’ &
‘Neer’ depicting the problem of water shortage especially in drought prone areas. The films
also exhibited the concern over water and sanitization issues and suggested how to keep
the water safe & clean in order to prevent diarrhea and water borne diseases. Students
watched the films with keen interest. It was followed by Group Discussion on the fact of
acute water shortage and hence required more recharge, recycle and reuse of waste water
with safe disposal. Later, a Question Answer Session was conducted by Ms. Sheetal Kohli
based on the understanding of the students about the films. The students also wrote
beautiful slogans and prepared relevant posters on the theme discussed giving them
opportunity to express their feelings about the crucial issue and assurance that they will
act upon it.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra congratulated the team of teachers involved
including Ms. Sheetal Kohli, Ms. Hitesh Kaul, Ms. Shipra Pathania, Ms. Marvi Sharma and Ms.
Tanjit Kour for conducting such event of vital importance with success.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu
Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes on the
occasion.
