DPS JAMMU ORGANIZES HATS –OFF SHOW

To give an outlet to tremendous energy, talent and creativity of students, DPS Jammu organized Inter - House Hats off Show competition for students of class IX-XII here today.

A team of 7 students from each of the 5 houses took part in the event. Different themes such as seasons, characters, cultures and marriages, etc. were pre-allotted to the participants. The event saw a beautiful amalgamation of grace, gait, style, confidence along with expressive commentary on the given themes by the narrators selected from each house. The students made ingenious use of hats worn on variety of occasions and elegantly carried them with their attire on the ramp. The select musical score appropriate to the select themes pepped up the entire show.

Lauding the narrative quality and contestants’ choice of the props and gears, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress DPS Jammu remarked that it was a unique way of appreciating and understanding the culture and heritage of traditional and modern India. The event was judged by Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Research Scholar and Asstt. Professor, MBS College, Jammu.

The first position was won by Jhelum House, while the second and third were clinched by Yamuna and Chenab respectively.

Addl. Director/Principal DPS Jammu, Dr. (Mrs.) D. Joseph appreciated the enthusiasm and resourcefulness displayed by the students and later distributed the prizes to the winners.
