DPS JAMMU CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY

Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated Independence Day in solemn and dignified demeanour, as part of the ongoing celebrations of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ with great patriotic fervour and zeal. A special assembly was organized on the occasion in which the students showcased a colourful spectacle of patriotic performances.
The celebration included a melange of cultural activities that showcased the true essence of Indian Independence. The series of cultural events began with a patriotic song by the school choir. This patriotic song was sung by 80 students upholding the National Flag, which mesmerized the audience and inspired them to sing aloud the glories of our country. This was followed by a mime act on COVID Appropriate Behaviour that encouraged everyone to display the readiness to comply with the COVID Protocols.
The main highlight of the event was the Skit on the tragic Pulwama terrorist attack, which was a tribute to the soldiers, recalling their supreme sacrifice for the sake of the nation and reinforcing the spirit of patriotism, loyalty and commitment towards nation. The event also included a scintillating patriotic dance performance by the junior kids of the school that seemed like a firework of rapid-moving steps. This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherein around 60 achievers, who brought laurels to the school in different categories such as Sports, Academics Intra-Class Competitions and other extra-curricular activities, were felicitated with prizes and certificates. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Jyoti Pallalia, House Master.
The celebration concluded with a powerful rendition of the National Anthem, followed by group photograph with all the participants and teachers. The school also released tricolour balloons at the end as a symbol of eternal flight of a free nation into the endless sky.
Principal-DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, in her address, greeted everyone on the occasion of Independence Day. She congratulated the students and teachers for enthusiastically uniting to celebrate the honour the nation. She also exhorted the students to realize, understand and cherish our coveted freedom and strive hard to make India a progressive nation.
Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta also extended warm greetings on the occasion and expressed pride in the rich cultural past of the country. She urged every student to work with honesty and dedication so that the nation soars to monumental heights.
Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kuwarani Ritu Singh and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji also conveyed their greetings to the students and staff and urged everyone to resolve to work together for the unity and integrity of the nation.
