CHRISTMAS CELEBRATED AT DPS JAMMU

Delhi Public School Jammu celebrated Christmas with great zeal and enthusiasm by organizing a fun – filled Special Assembly.Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh,Pro-Vice Chairperson DPS Jammuwas the Chief Guest on the occasion, whileSh S.S Sodhi,Director,DPS Jammu was theGuest of Honour.The dignitaries wereaccorded a warm reception by the impressive School Band. In keeping with the mood of celebration, the stage and the school campus were artistically adorned with Christmas trees, Candy Canes, Mistletoes and Holly leaves, creating a heavenly ambience.
The Special Assembly began with the welcome address by the Principal-DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra.Students ushered the Christmas spirit with soul stirring rendition of age old carols and nativity scene showcasing the birth of Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, the real essence of Christmas. They beautifully created sequence of scenes reminiscing the events related to Virgin Mary and birth of Jesus Christ. This enactment was enlivened by enthusiastic fairies, Shepherds, Lambs and around 200 Carol Singers dressed in attractive attires.
Little Santas of Pre-Primary Wing further added to the festive mood by happily dancing on the merry tunes of Christmas. Carrying forward the upbeat festivity happiness with utmost zeal, vigour and energy were the students of Pre Primary and Primary Wing dancing on the beats of “We wish you a merry Christmas”. Various Student Achievers of International Level, National level Sports, Academic and Cultural events were also felicitated by the dignitaries.
The icing on the cake was the release of Annual School Magazines “Ankur” and “Jharna” wherein the Student Editors also shared some glimpses of their journey in the framing of the school magazines.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singhcongratulated Team DPS for impressive assembly and various achievements won during the academic year.She also motivated the students to hone their talents and give them the message of Service Before Self which is essential for building a strong inner character. She also cut a ceremonial christmas cake and distributed chocolates to children.
Sh. S.S Sodhiin his speech said that the school will be competing its 25 years, next year, and all those who have been associated with this institution have played a huge role in its growth and evolution. He also expressed appreciation for the laudable efforts of the Principal and her team and wished everyone Merry Christmas.
Earlier, Principal-DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra urged everyone to embody the spirit of real Christmas by maintaining humility and compassion, extending help to the needy and by spreading happiness all around.
Mr. R C Gupta, CAO, Mr.Karandeep Singh, Snr M.O., Mr.M.L.Mehra, Transport Administrator, Headmistress, Ms. Meenu Gupta, Headmaster, Mr. Ravi Kumar Kotroo, Dy. Headmaster, Mr. Umesh Kumar Sharma and Dy. Headmistress, Ms. Rimpi Sharma, Coordinators Ms.Mrignaini Pathania and Ms Preeti Abrol also extended their greetings on the occasion.
The whole event was compered by Tehzeeb Kaur (XI) & Harshit Mengi (XI) impeccably. The vote of thanks was presented by House Warden-Jhelum House, Ms. Palvi Sharma. The Special Assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji extended his best wishes on the occasion to the staff and students.
