DPS, Jammu Glitters Again Science Expo – 2014

The 27th day of December 2014, proved to be a boon for the young and budding scientists of DPS, Jammu. Pursuing the vision to develop scientific attitude in the students, a science exhibition for classes VI-VIII was organized in the school campus. It aimed to make the young generation realize the interdependence of science, technology and growth. They presented their exhibits and models with a sense of pride in their talent display. The exhibition displayed a high level of creativity, innovation and motivation in both students and teachers.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Baldev Singh, Senior Principal Scientist, RRL Jammu and Dr. Gurdarshan Singh, Senior Scientist, RRL Jammu was the guest of honour. The occasion was also graced by the delegates from Canada, Mr. Grath and Mrs. Jggy who inaugurated the exhibition. They also appreciated the efforts of the students who looked very enthusiastic on the occasion. While welcoming the Guests, headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta, DPS Jammu stated that such exhibitions prove to be a great learning experience for young children making them innovative, creative and enabling them to think out of the box.

The highlights of the exhibition were models on Green House, Rainwater Harvesting, Organic Village, Science City, Life on Mars, Future Earth 2050, Maglev and many more. The project on Rainwater Harvesting was adjudged the Best Exhibit in Class VI, Ambident Back Scatter bagged the Best Project in Class VII and Solar Street System was pronounced the Best Project in Class VIII.

The students / teachers were applauded by the Headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta, DPS Jammu and the proud parents who interacted with the students for their queries.

Addl. Director / Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) D. Joseph, DPS Jammu congratulated the students, teachers and the parents for the successful completion of the exhibition. She also wished for their bright future.
