Lt. Governor Sh.Manoj Sinha Inspires Students at DPS Jammu on Silver Jubilee Celebration

Lt Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha inspired students and staff and inaugurated Project Roshni aimed at helping visually challenged individuals through 'Annie' digital classes,
at DPS Jammu on its Silver Jubilee celebrations here today.

In his address, the Lt Governor congratulated the School Administration, Teachers and Students of Delhi Public School on the occasion. He said the reputed educational institution, under the care and tutelage of Maharaja Hari Singh Social & Education Foundation Trust and Rajput Charitable Trust, has made an immense contribution to shaping the future of young talents and social transformation.

The Lt Governor highlighted the transformation taking place in the education sector and emphasized the need to reinvent the concepts of classroom learning. “School is the cradle of future leaders and centre of creativity, character building and a fundamental medium to strengthen the value system in our society. Today, the real challenge before our education system is to promote learning beyond the classroom and impart life skills,” the Lt Governor said.

He called upon the teaching community and educational institutions to adopt best practices aligned with the National Education Policy to bridge the learning gaps. National Education Policy has provided immense possibilities to elevate learning and create a conducive environment for critical thinking, creativity, individuality and inquisitiveness to flourish so that our young children can learn new things, he said.

“Never stop chasing your dreams, is my message to our youth. Discover what you really love doing, strive continuously to achieve new goals, reflect on your greatest passion and never ever stop believing in yourself,” the Lt Governor said.

In his address, Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha also shared inspiring real-life incidents, highlighting the importance of sustaining passion, fostering a spirit of continuous self-empowerment among both staff and students and reiterating their collective responsibility in contributing to the progress of the nation. He particularly emphasized the pivotal role that Teachers play in shaping the future of education and inspired them to adopt teaching methods that encourage and sharpen the curiosity of students.

Lt Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha inaugurated 'Annie,' a cutting-edge smart class and IT lab dedicated to empowering visually impaired girl children through the latest technology in Braille. Later, he also felicitated the rural girls of the Flora and the surrounding villages of Nagbani who completed a basic course on computer education under the ‘Vriddhi’ project spearheaded by Kunwrani Dr Ritu Singh, Founding Trustee and PVC, DPS Jammu.
Vrindalika Sharma( IX ) and Vanshika (X ) of DPS Jammu were also felicitated with their cheques of Rs 50,000 and 30,000 won by them in the NHPC state-level competition.

Lt Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha interacted with the students and staff, leaving them an indelible mark of inspiration. Earlier, Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha was given a warm reception by the school band along with the traditional tilak, after which he inaugurated the Roshni Project with a Computer Lab dedicated to the visually impaired. This was followed by the lamp lighting in the backdrop of Saraswati Vandana sung by the school choir and the Yogic posture display presented by the students of DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra. Lt Governor acknowledged DPS Jammu school for its contribution to the educational space and achievements and extended his best wishes to the Management, Principals and students for the bright future of all three DPS schools.

Students of DPS Jammu - Bhinndeep Kour and Manaswin Mahajan of Class X presented their Book Report on their entrepreneurial project ‘Sushikshan Drone’ for saving the River Health of J&K and the rest of the nation. Akash Sharma (Head Boy) and Sheen Wanchoo (Head Girl) presented school magazines and activity reports while Prathmansh (Class XII) presented a hand-made portrait of Hon’ble LG whereas, students of DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra presented hand-made greeting cards to him as a token of honour and gratitude.

In her welcome address, Kunwrani Dr Ritu Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to Honourable LG Manoj Sinha for gracing the occasion. She briefed about the DPS legacy rooted in Jammu's heritage, which has flourished under the visionary efforts of Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation and Rajput Charitable Trust. She said DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra are recognized for their academic excellence, environmental sustainability, and community outreach, promoting holistic education and social responsibility with initiatives such as, 'Project Vriddhi’ and ‘Project Roshni,' fostering inclusivity and technological empowerment, for societal betterment.

The Vote of thanks was delivered by M.K. Ajatshatru Singh who highlighted the historic significance of the establishment of the Rajput Charitable Trust and thanked LG Manoj Sinha for gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. He also appreciated the role played by PVC and Founder Trustee, Kunwrani Dr Ritu Singh for joining 3 schools of DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra through her commendable social work. He also lauded the Principals, and staff of the three schools for their untiring efforts in providing quality education to the students.

Earlier, Principal DPS Jammu Ms. Ruchi Chabra initiated the function with her opening remarks, highlighting the achievements of the school. The school choir comprising students of DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra presented a patriotic song on national integration. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

Gupta, Snr Accounts Officer, M.L.Mehra, Transport Administrator, Coordinators, staff and students of all three schools.
