DPS Jammu Sports Stars Honoured by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Kumar Sinha with Cash Awards and Scholarships

The esteemed Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Kumar Sinha, bestowed prestigious honors upon 368 sportspersons from 17 disciplines of J&K. A total of 10 students, including school alumni, were privileged recipients of this esteemed recognition. This grand ceremony took place during the inauguration of the Synthetic Turf Football Ground at Mini Stadium Parade on March 13, 2024.The exceptional achievements of DPS Sports Stars and others during the sessions 2021-22 and 2022-23were celebrated with special cash awards.

The distinguished awardees from DPS Jammu and their respective rewards are as follows:

1. Soham Kamotra- Chess - ₹8,00,000/-
2. Mihika - Pencak Silat - ₹1,00,000/-
3. Parth Singh Slathia - Roller Skating (Inline Hockey) - ₹10,000/-
4. Hiteshwar Singh- Roller Skating (Inline Hockey) - ₹10,000/-
5. Dhruv Gupta - Roller Skating (Inline Hockey) - ₹10,000/-
6. Ananya Sharma - Fencing - ₹12,500/-
7. Manav Gupta- Gymnastics - ₹3,000/-
8. Himani Gupta - Gymnastics - ₹8,000/-
9. Kriti Badyal - Pencak Silat - ₹10,000/-
10.Rigved -Pencak Silat- 50,000/-

Additionally, in a significant acknowledgment of talent, total of 12 table tennis players from DPS Jammu were granted scholarships from SAI, along with full kits from the Khelo India Centre. The deserving recipients of these scholarships and kits are:
