DPS Jammu Students Shine at EcoInnovators Ideathon 2025 Grand Finale

The students of Delhi Public School, Jammu, have once again brought laurels to the school with their outstanding performance at the prestigious EcoInnovators Ideathon 2025, held at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on January 24, 2025. Representing Class 11-A, Manya Targotra and Rudraksh Bargotra emerged as finalists in a competition that saw over 600 entries from schools across India. Their innovative project, “Carbifiers,” secured them a place among the Top 10, a remarkable feat that showcased their creativity, dedication, and commitment to sustainability.
“Carbifiers,” the brainchild of Manya and Rudraksh, focuses on converting industrial smoke into usable methane, offering a sustainable solution to pollution and energy shortages. The journey to the Grand Finale began with a two-slide PowerPoint presentation in the first round, followed by masterclasses organized by the event team, which helped refine their project and presentation. Their hard work culminated in a detailed project submission, earning them a spot in the highly competitive Final Top 10.
At the Grand Finale, the students confidently presented their project before an esteemed jury, including prominent figures such as Dr. Indumathi Nambi from IIT Madras, Dr. Ranjana Ray Chaudhuri from TERI School of Advanced Studies, and Dr. Taniya Mishra, CEO of SureStart. The evaluation was based on problem identification, impact, feasibility, innovation, use of technology, and presentation skills. Manya and Rudraksh impressed the jury with their innovative approach and technical expertise, earning Certificates of Achievement and a cash prize of ₹5,000 each.
Accompanied by their teacher, Ms. Insha Ahmad, the students traveled to New Delhi on January 22 and returned on January 25. This journey provided them with an enriching experience, exposing them to new ideas, environmental sustainability challenges, and opportunities for networking with peers and experts from across the country.
