Delhi Public School Jammu organized a grand farewell ceremony- Bazm-E-Rukhsat, to bid adieu to the outgoing batch of Class XII (2024-25).

The students were warmly welcomed with a traditional Tilak Ceremony by their juniors from Class XI and were given number tags for the prestigious DPS Title Round. The event commenced with a solemn Blessing Ceremony, marked by the auspicious lighting of the lamp and the chanting of mantras.
In a symbolic gesture of good luck and prosperity, the Class XI students gifted their seniors with traditional Tree of Life paintings bearing farewell messages and personalized title cards. Dedicating the day to cherished memories, the students of Class XI orchestrated a vibrant celebration that began with a soulful welcome song, followed by a medley of melodious performances and high-energy dance sequences. The highlight of the cultural segment was a captivating Ramp Walk cum Fashion Show, beautifully portraying the evolution of Indian cultural trends. The Super Singers of Class XI enchanted the audience with a Bollywood musical mashup, leading up to a grand finale featuring an electrifying Bhangra and Bollywood dance sequence.
A major highlight of the event was the eagerly awaited DPS Titles Competition. In the first round, 30 students were selected from nearly 50 participants to compete for the prestigious DPS Titles, showcasing their talents in a variety of fields. The second round saw 15 shortlisted students impressing the audience with their performances in singing, dancing, and slam poetry. The final round brought the top 10 finalists before an esteemed panel of judges—Ms. Insha Ahmad, Ms. Navneet Kaur, and Ms. Roma Bakshi—who posed thought-provoking questions, testing the students' intellect and creativity. A special moment of the ceremony was the felicitation of Ms. RaveenaJangid, a proud alumna of DPS Jammu and a registered shooter with the J&K Rifle Association. She was honoured with a special trophy and certificate in recognition of her outstanding achievements in rifle shooting.
Principal Ruchi Chabra congratulated all title winners, urging all students to draw inspiration from their achievements. She lauded the exceptional talent of the DPSites, reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds. She commended their spirit of initiative and reminded them that success comes through effort, not entitlement. Urging them to stay curious and embrace lifelong learning, she encouraged them to explore the world, gain enriching experiences, and learn from their mistakes. She concluded by reminding them to uphold the DPS Jammu motto, Service Before Self, in their journey ahead.
Vice Principal Meenu Gupta commended the outgoing batch for their perseverance and dedication, urging them to carry forward the values instilled at DPS Jammu. Headmaster Ravi Kotroo encouraged students to embrace challenges with confidence and integrity, reminding them that true success lies in resilience and hard work. Deputy Headmaster and Chief Coordinator Umesh Kumar Sharma motivated them to remain disciplined and goal-oriented, emphasizing that their journey ahead would be shaped by their choices and commitment to excellence.
Expressing gratitude, the outgoing students acknowledged the unwavering support of their mentors and parents. The Head Boys and Head Girls honoured Principal Ruchi Chabra with a crown and sash, bestowing her the title “The Best Principal.” Sameeksha Rai, a Class XII student, paid tribute with a heartfelt self-composed poem dedicated to her.
The esteemed Management of DPS Jammu, including the Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, the Distinguished PVC, Kunwrani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, and the Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S. Sodhi Ji, imparted their heartfelt best wishes to the Class XII students. They encouraged them to face the upcoming board examinations with confidence and wished them success in all their future endeavors, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence and making a meaningful impact in the world.
The event concluded on a joyous note with the National Anthem, followed by a lively DJ party and a sumptuous lunch. Students clicked pictures at beautifully designed selfie booths, capturing moments that would become treasured memories. The occasion was graced by Deputy Headmistress, Ms. Rimpi Sharma; Coordinators, and faculty members. The event was skilfully compered by Himanshu Sumbria, Pranjal, Manaswin, Akshat, Mughda, and Katyaini of Class XI.
