Janab Naeem Ahtar, Hon’ble Minister for Education J&K inaugurates three days Enrichment Programme: Teaching English (North Zone) at DPS, Jammu

Hon’ble Chief Guest Janab Naeem Akhtar Hon’ble Minister for Education inaugurated a three day long workshop on Enrichment Programme: Teaching English for classes VI-VIII at DPS Jammu from 27th – 29th November, 2015 where the delegates from more than 50 schools of North Zone actively participated. Mrs. Priya Sethi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture presided over the function. The DPS Society (New Delhi) organizes such workshops from time to time for the teachers to hone their teaching skills and make teaching and learning an enriching experience. Many VVIPS, Educationists, Parents, Prominent citizens and press media also graced the occasion.The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Ruchi Chabra, Principal DPS Jammu who welcomed the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Guest of Honours, Hon’ble Kunwrani Ritu Singh & Ms. Vineta Kher, Director CEM DPSS New Delhi. Prof. Vandhana Sharma Dean Faculty of Social Sciences & Director- School of Languages & Literature, Shri. Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra, the key note speaker, was welcomed by Ms. Meenu Gupta Headmistress DPS Jammu She also thanked Mr. Shunglu Hon’ble Chairman DPSS New Delhi & Prof. B.P Khandelwal, Hon’ble member Delhi Public School Society for giving the consent to organize the Enrichment Programme at DPS Jammu. She stated that the enrichment programme will be a success only if the participants actively participate in the programme and learn from the resource persons who have come from all over India to train, guide and enable them to spread the light of knowledge.Kunwarani Ritu Singh ji, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu, also graced the occasion. She also welcomed and thanked Hon’ble Minister for Education, J&K & Hon’ble Minister of State for Education for sparing their valuable time and gracing the auspicious occasion. Earlier, the workshop began with the lamp lighting ceremony by the honorable chief guest & the guests of honour, Management, Principal & Headmistress of the school .The dance troupe of the school gave a mesmerizing performance on Ganesh Vandana which was applauded and praised by everyone present. Mrs. Priya Sethi, Honourable Minister of State for Education who felt privileged & honored to be in DPS, Jammu preside over the function stated that it is the need of the hour that DPS Society guides the teaching faculty of the government schools for the purpose of raising the standard of education in government schools so that under privileged students are also benefitted.Ms. Vinita Kher, Programme Director (Council of Education Management)and in-charge Human Resource Development Centre, DPS Society New Delhi welcomed the dignitaries, parents and Press present.Speaking on the occasion, the Honourable Chief Guest stated that DPS, Jammu is best in shaping the future of the young ones and has been upgrading the standard of education in the state for the last about twenty years. The vote of thanks was presented by Sh. S.S Sodhi, Honourable Director Delhi Public School, Jammu who thanked Janab Naeem Akhter Ji, Honourable minister for education J&K, Mrs. Priya Sethi Ji, Honourable minister of state for education, M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji Honourable President RCT & Member Legislative Council J&K, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji, Honourable Pro-Vice Chairperson, Ms. Vinita Kher Honourable Director(CEM) New Delhi and all others for sparing their valuable time out of their busy schedule and gracing the occasion which will go a long way to benefit the teaching faculty and students of the school.
