Delhi Public School Jammu Observes Earth Day 2025 with Passion and Purpose
Wednesday, April 23, 2025
Delhi Public School Jammu commemorated Earth Day 2025 with vibrant enthusiasm and a strong message across all wings of the school—Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle, and Senior. Guided by this year’s global theme, "Our Power, Our Planet", the celebrations aimed to awaken a deep sense of environmental responsibility and inspire collective action among young learners.
The Pre-Primary Wing set the momentum with joyful yet meaningful activities. Children participated in art and craft sessions, took a heartfelt pledge to protect Earth, and actively contributed to a plantation drive, sowing the seeds of love for nature from an early age.
The Primary Wing (Classes II–V) carried forward the spirit with class-wise, eco-themed initiatives:
Class II engaged in a colouring activity and a tree plantation drive, learning about the importance of greenery.
Class III embraced the idea of upcycling through a paper bag-making activity under the theme “Think Outside the Trash – RECYCLE”, reinforcing the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Class IV raised awareness with slogan writing and an in-campus rally, urging everyone to act for the Earth.
Class V communicated powerful messages through poster-making, creatively expressing their commitment to environmental protection.
Adding to the day’s significance, Class IV also conducted a Special Assembly highlighting the importance of Earth Day and how small actions can lead to big changes when it comes to protecting our planet.
In the Middle Wing, students explored deeper reflections on Earth and its uniqueness through diverse literary and creative expressions. They penned comparative essays and diary entries on “Life on Earth vs. Life on the Moon/Another Planet”, designed posters on “My Earth, My Responsibility”, and wrote letters to friends imagining life beyond Earth, capturing a mix of wonder, nostalgia, and concern.
The Senior Wing brought an especially thoughtful twist by writing letters as astronaut Sunita Williams, imagining life from space. These letters beautifully highlighted what one misses most about Earth—from its colors and trees to its air and emotional warmth—reinforcing why our planet is irreplaceable and must be preserved for future generations.
Principal Ms. Ruchi Chabra and Vice Principal Ms. Meenu Gupta lauded the students for their creativity, sincerity, and deep concern for the environment. They appreciated how each activity—whether a slogan, poster, letter, or plantation—was a reflection of the power every individual holds in shaping a sustainable future.
At DPS Jammu, Earth Day 2025 wasn’t just a celebration—it was a clarion call for students to recognize "Our Power, Our Planet" and rise as responsible guardians of the Earth.
MK Ajatshatru Singh ji President-RCT; Kunwarani Ritu Singh ji , Pro Vice Chairperson; and Sh. S.S. Sodhi ji , Director, lauded the noble initiative taken by the school. They extended their heartfelt congratulations to the staff and students for their enthusiastic participation and creative expression. Encouraging the young learners to become true changemakers, they emphasized the importance of preserving our planet for future generations.
