Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s 130th Birth Anniversary Commemorated with Enthusiasm at DPS Jammu

As part of its endeavour to instil timeless values in young learners, Delhi Public School Jammu, under the guidance of Hon’ble Founder and Pro-Vice Chairperson, Kunwrani Ritu Singh ji organised a special programme to mark the 130th Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, the great Dogra ruler of Jammu & Kashmir.
The programme sought to introduce children to the Maharaja’s ideals of justice, equality, and education in a simple and engaging manner. The event began with a floral tribute, followed by recitations by children highlighting his noble vision. A short film on his life was screened, after which teachers Ms Rama Gupta and *Ms Neena Sharma * interacted with the children. The programme was compered by *Ms. Payal Tandon.
Adding colour and joy to the celebration, children sang a Dogri song, participated in a special colouring activity, and were distributed sweets.
Principal *Ms. Ruchi Chabra remarked that Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s words — “All religions are mine, and my religion is justice” — remain a guiding light for students. Vice Principal Ms. Meenu Gupta added that his reign of fairness and compassion continues to inspire children to live with honesty and responsibility.
The event was supported by the Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Educational Foundation, which works tirelessly to uphold and promote the Maharaja’s vision of justice, equality, and education. It also respectfully acknowledged the esteemed members of the Royal Family — Rajkumar Ranvijay Singh and Rajkumari Adishree Singh — whose enduring association continues to inspire students to take pride in their rich cultural heritage and legacy.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt resolve of “Maharaja Hari Singh Ji Sada Amar Rahein.” The distinguished Management — Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh (President RCT), Kunwarani Dr. Ritu Singh (PVC), Rajkumar Ranvijay Singh, Rajkumari Adishree Singh, and Sh. S.S. Sodhi (Director)— extended their blessings and lauded the efforts of the school in nurturing cultural pride and value-based education among students.
