DPS JAMMU STUDENTS BAG TOP HONOURS IN FANCY DRESS COMPETITION ORGANISED BY J&K POLICE

Delhi Public School Jammu students once again brought laurels to the institution by sweeping the top three positions in the Fancy Dress Competition on the theme “Diwali”, organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, Jammu Zone, in collaboration with the Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA). Sehaj Kour (Class II) secured the First Position, winning a cash prize of ₹4,000; Sachika Kohli (Class IV) achieved the Second Position with ₹3,000; and Diganta Bawa (Class V) bagged the Third Position with ₹2,000. Their captivating performances and creative portrayal of Diwali’s spirit earned them high praise from the judges and audience alike. The event was held on 14th October 2025 at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, as part of the Police Diwali Mela 2025. Designed to foster cultural values, creativity, and community engagement among children, the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from various schools. Students dressed in vibrant Diwali-inspired costumes such as Lord Rama, Sita, Goddess Lakshmi, Dhanvantri, diyas, lanterns, and eco-friendly Diwali ambassadors, spreading messages of light, goodness, and environmental awareness. The distinguished panel of judges included Shri Nalin Prabhat, IPS, Director General of Police, J&K; Shri Kuldeep Khoda, IPS (Retd.), former DGP J&K; and Shri Ashok Bhan, IPS (Retd.), former DG CID and Prisons, J&K, who evaluated the participants on creativity, confidence, costume presentation, and thematic relevance. The joyous event was marked by vibrant performances, festive decor, and enthusiastic cheers from families, teachers, and police officials, making it a celebration of both talent and tradition.
