An Interactive Session on “Design Your Degree” under the Initiative of Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Hosted by Kuwarani Ritu Singh, Founder & PVC, Delhi Public School Jammu

Delhi Public School Jammu successfully hosted a special session on “Design Your Degree” under the initiative and guidance of the Hon’ble Pro Vice Chairperson, Kunwrani Ritu Singh, in collaboration with the University of Jammu. The interactive programme aimed to familiarise senior students with the University’s innovative four-year undergraduate programme, designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The initiative empowers students to pursue flexible, interdisciplinary, and choice-based learning pathways aligned with their interests, aptitude, and aspirations.
Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, welcomed the distinguished guests and appreciated the visionary guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai, whose commitment to academic innovation and forward-looking collaborations with schools—under the inspiring initiative of Kunwrani Ritu Singh, Pro Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu—has paved the way for such transformative educational endeavours.
The session was led by Prof. Alka, accompanied by a team of experts from the University of Jammu, including Prof. Anil Gupta, Prof. K.S. Charak, and Dr. Chinmoyee Maharana. The speakers offered deep insights into the structure and flexibility of the new programme, which integrates skill-based learning, interdisciplinary exposure, and multiple entry-exit options in keeping with NEP 2020.
Three University students — Mr. Adil (B.Tech), Ms. Paridhi (B.Tech), and Mr. Narayan Choudhary (BBA), shared candid reflections on their learning journeys. They spoke about how the programme helped them gain confidence, secure internships, and explore diverse academic avenues, breaking traditional silos in higher education.
Students of DPS Jammu engaged enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions that made the interaction lively, relevant, and inspiring.
The distinguished Management of DPS Jammu — Hon’ble President, Rajput Charitable Trust, Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji; Hon’ble Pro Vice Chairperson, Kunwrani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji; and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S. Sodhi Ji — along with the Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, and the school faculty, extended their heartfelt gratitude to the expert team from the University of Jammu for conducting such an enriching and insightful session. They appreciated the University’s efforts in guiding and inspiring the students of DPS Jammu to explore innovative pathways in higher education and align their future goals with their individual strengths and aspirations.
The formal Vote of Thanks was delivered by Vice Principal, Ms. Meenu Gupta, who expressed gratitude to the University team and acknowledged the continued support and vision of the School Management, Principal, and staff.
The event concluded with the National Anthem.
