DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL “Prayas Club” ORGANISES VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME

The “Prayas Club” organized a visit to Old Age Home, Ambphalla on Friday 6th May 2016. It was the most wonderful , emotional and eye-opener scenario for the club members which comprised of 33 students and Ms Manpreet Kour & Ms Sukhpreet Kour as mentors. The Club members spend quality time with the old people and mothers and gave them the feel of the extended DPS family The inmates were very hospitable and friendly as they welcomed the students with huge smile and open arms. The students presented small cultural program for them to break the monotony of their lives. Some of them enjoyed singing and dancing with the students as well. The group cut the cake with them to celebrate the Mother’s Day and made it a long lasting memory of life for them. Though the group spent only few hours with them but it made them realize for the lifetime the value of grandparents and the tenderness which is needed to take care of them. It was a highly emotional moment as the children gave away gifts comprising of daily utility items and hugged them with affection. The Headmistress Ms Meenu Gupta encouraged the students to undertake such visits often as it helps them to mould into a fine person
The Principal Ms Ruchi Chabra urged the students to love and respect all elders and said that such community outreach programmes sensitize students to the needs of the elderly and help them to understand their social and moral responsibility better. She extended her best wishes to the members of the Prayas Club for organizing this programme.
