Tuesday, November 4, 2025
Delhi Public School Jammu organised a special assembly to commemorate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and a beacon of universal brotherhood and truth.
The assembly began with a warm welcome by Sufyaan Chauhan (X-F) and Anam (IX-H).
The program commenced with a prayer led by Somanshi (IX-J), invoking blessings of the Almighty for peace and harmony. This was followed by the thought for the day, which was presented by Navya (IX- Ε).
A soulful Shabad Kirtan by the school choir filled the atmosphere with devotion, uplifting the hearts of all present. The next segment featured a speech on the life and travels (Udasis) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which highlighted his mission to spread the message of equality, compassion, and oneness.
Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, addressed the gathering, reflecting on Guru Nanak Dev Ji's message of truth, humility, and service to humanity. She said that in a world of distractions, true strength lies in mastering oneself-remaining calm amid chaos, kind amid conflict, and focused amid temptation. Quoting "Man jeete jag jeet," she urged students to practice self- discipline and live by the values of seva (service), simran (mindfulness), and sach (truth).
Vice Principal, Ms. Meenu Gupta, highlighted three pillars of Sikhism: Kirat Karo (honest living), Naam Japo (meditation on God's name), and Vand Chhako (sharing with others) - in building a harmonious society.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem. The program ended with heartfelt gratitude from the anchors, Anam & Sufyaan, who wished everyone a blessed and peaceful day ahead.
The esteemed management of DPS JAMMU, Hon'ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Distinguished PVC-Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, Hon'ble Director-Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji along with Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra wished everyone on this pious occasion.
