Delhi Public School Jammu Wins First Prize in “Dogra Dharohar Di Jhanki” Cultural Procession

Delhi Public School Jammu won the first prize in the vibrant cultural procession “Dogra Dharohar Di Jhanki,” which featured over 500 artists and performers and drew thousands of spectators across Jammu City.

Organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with the Senior Citizen Support Service Club, the event showcased the rich Dogra heritage and brought together prominent cultural personalities, Padma Awardees, writers, and artists from across the UT.

The procession started from Indira Chowk and passed through Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, and Shalamar Road, presenting lively performances throughout. After nearly two hours of continuous cultural displays, it concluded at Indira Chowk with a prize distribution ceremony.

During the ceremony, Delhi Public School Jammu was declared the first prize winner for its culturally rich and impressive presentation.

Traditional Dogra folk groups—including Kud, Chajja, and other troupes—added colour and energy to the procession with their spirited performances, making it a memorable celebration of Dogra identity.

The esteemed management of DPS Jammu under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Distinguished PVC-Kuwarani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, Hon’ble Director-Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji along with Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra and staff congratulated the students and staff for their remarkable teamwork and adaptability, praising their commitment to celebrate Dogra heritage through an impressive and culturally rich Jhanki.
