SSP Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta(IPS) Joins Panel Discussion on CRIME, CORRUPTION AND CONTROL at DPS Jammu

SSP, Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta (IPS) delivered a keynote address on the occasion of the Vigilance Awareness Week and also joined in the panel discussion on CRIME, CORRUPTION AND CONTROL organized by DPS Jammu in its premises here today.
The programme started with welcoming of the Chief Guest with a bouquet by the Principal Ms. Ruchi Chabra, followed by Saraswati Vandana sung by the school choir, beseeching the goddess to replace darkness with light.
The school Head Boy Jaskirat Singh Gujral along with Tanisha Puri and Pranav Sahani showcased a very lively PPT presentation on the topic CRIME, CORRUPTION AND CONTROL which was followed by a power packed Panel Discussion conducted and moderated by Ms. Manpreet Kour and MS. Neha Mahajan from English Dept of the school.
There were in all, ten participants from five houses who raised their concerns, discussed several relevant issues pertaining to the topic and put forth their perspectives very strongly in the three panel rounds- Presentation, Discussion and Question/ Answer. While the first two rounds were held between the panelists and the teacher moderators, the Question/Answer round saw an active interaction of the panelists with the Chief Guest, Judges and the students representing All India Radio, Print and Electronic Media.
The event was judged by Dy. Headmaster - Mr. Ravi Kotroo and Chief Coordinator - Mr.Umesh Sharma, who declared Mahavir Singh & Rajashri Rai of Yamuna House, Bhawandeep Singh & Devansh Vashishtah of Tawi House & Abu Siyam & Arpita Magotra of Chenab House in first, second and third positions respectively. Best question was asked by Jhelum House and best answer was given by Yamuna House. While in round III (Discussion Round) Anmol Reshi X-J, Asma Javaid X-J & Andrilla Mukerjee XII E won best question from the Audience.
In his Keynote Address, Dr.Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu dwelt in detail on the three words CRIME,CORRUPTION and CONTROL .He explained these words to the students in such a simple manner that they were crystal clear to them. He exhorted the students to speak what they as individuals could do to remove the menace of corruption from our country. Later he also distributed prizes to the winners of the Panel Discussion and other participants of slogan writing, elocution and mock panel discussion held earlier, during the vigilance Awareness week.

Addressing the gathering Principal, Ms.Ruchi Chabra called upon the students to play a vital role in controlling CRIME, CORRUPTION. She was of the opinion that it is always right to "Catch children while they are still young "and to inspire in them moral values and ethics right in their formative years, while they are still at an impressionable age. She said that students were the future of the country and it is for them to ensure value based society in the coming future.
The vote of thanks was presented by the Headmistress Ms.Meenu Gupta who summed up the session very effectively.
It is in place here to mention that the programme received great appreciation from the management The Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi & Hon'ble President RCT Sh. M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon'ble PVC Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon'ble Director Sh. S.S. Sodhi. All of them conveyed their best wishes to all participants and wished them good luck for their future endeavours.
