DPS Jammu Celebrates Constitution Day

To mark the Constitution Day on 26 November 2016, DPS Jammu organized a special assembly, Quiz competition and Preamble Reading Activity in its premises today. During the assembly which was dedicated to the theme of the Constitution Day, Saujanya Raj, of class VIII delivered a speech on the significance of Constitution of India. This was followed by a lively orchestral performance on patriotic composition, which saw enthusiastic participation of all budding instrumentalists. The highlight of the day's celebration, however, was the Preamble reading activity conducted in all classes, where in all students and teachers reiterated their pledge to uphold the Constitution of India. They pledged to rededicate themselves with full devotion to abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions not only with regard to fundamentals rights but also to fundamentals duties. Later in the day, a quiz contest was organized for students of classes VI to VIII which illustrated the message contained in the Preamble of the constitution of India.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra stressed upon the value of Constitution in the lives of all the citizens of the country. She urged the students to imbibe the principles enshrined in the Constitution of India. The Headmistress Ms. Meenu Gupta exhorted the students to strive for Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
Hon’ble President RCT, M.K. Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S S Sodhi Ji also conveyed their best wishes to all the students and the staff.
