RICH TRIBUTES WERE PAID TO H.H MAHARAJA HARI SINGH JI ON HIS 123rd BIRTH ANNIVERSARY ON 23-09-2017

Management and staff of Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation paid rich tributes to H.H Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on his 123rd birth anniversary on 23rd September, 2017 where many VIP's, dignitaries, prominent citizens from all walks of life were present.

The programme began with the garlanding of statue of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji by Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Hon'ble Chairman / Trustee, Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, J&K, Former cabinet minister, Member Legislative Council, J&K State and Grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Hon'ble MLA, Jammu and Kashmir Govt. followed by Rajkumar Ranvijay Singh Ji, Great Grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, Sh. S.S Sodhi, Director, Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, Jammu, Sh. M.S Jamwal, Secretary, Rajput Charitable Trust, J&K, Sh. C.L Malhotra, Secretary, Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, Jammu, Sh. Chander Ghulati, Sh. Ajay Gandotra, Sr. Advocate, Sh. Joginder Singh, C.A, Sh. P.S Pathania, Member, Rajput Charitable Trust, J&K, Mr. Ishwar Paul Singh Sodhi from London and many other distinguished guests.

Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Sh. S.S Sodhi, Hon'ble Director, Delhi Public School, Jammu who welcomed all the Hon'ble guests and dignitaries. He also highlighted the contributions of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji who dedicated his entire life for the welfare of the general public. Sh. Sodhi also stated that the social reforms done by Maharaja Hari Singh Ji about 100 years back are very important / useful even today. Actually, Maharaja Sahib was an epitome of good governance even about 100 years back who allowed the people to live their life respectfully and peacefully.
Sh. Rajesh Gupta, MLA, J&K State spoke very high about Maharaja Hari Singh Ji who brought many social reforms for the welfare of the general public. He even compared Maharaja Sahib with Sh. Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and stated that both have many similarities in their work and actions. They love to work for the welfare of the general public and wish peace and prosperity for the people of the country. As regards the declaration of holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on 23rd September every year, he stated that the resolution for the same which was moved by Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji stands passed by the Legislative Council, J&K on 24th January, 2017 and is expected to be passed by the J&K State Assembly, shortly.

Rajkumar Ranvijay Singh, Trustee, Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation and Great Grandson of Maharaja Sahib also recalled the social reforms done by Maharaja Sahib and stated that the Ruling period of Maharaja Sahib was the golden period for the people of J&K State in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Chairman / Trustee, Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, MLC and Grandson of Maharaja Sahib stated that Maharaja Hari Singh Ji had brought many social reforms for the welfare of the people like banning of the child marriage, compulsory and free education to all, banning of untouchability, banning of smoking at public places, promoting widow marriage. He also promoted brotherhood in J&K State, and treated Hindu, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians & others equally and accession of Jammu & Kashmir State with India for which he is loved and remembered by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, respectfully.
Maharaja Sahib had also remarked that :-
"As a Ruler, I have no religion, All religions are mine and my religion is Justice."
Sh. M.K Sahib stated that it will be a great tribute to him, if we follow his principles / footsteps for the welfare of the poor, downtrodden and general public to mitigate their problems.
The programme concluded with the reciting of 'National Anthem' by all the present on the occasion.
