DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAMMU SHINES IN INTER DPS CHESS AND SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP

To build competitive spirit and give all round exposure to students, DPS Jammu participated in the DPS International Chess Championship-2017 and the DPS National Skating Championship Boys (open)-2017, organized by the DPS Society, New Delhi on 27th and 28th October, 2017 at DPS Chandigarh and DPS Hisar.
In the DPS International Chess Championship 2017, Soham Kamotra (VIII-D) won the First Board prize and the Best Player Trophy for remaining undefeated top player in all Knock out matches, while Jaiveer Singh Gujral (IX) also gave a tough competition to contenders by winning 3 out of 5 matches. Overall, the team was ranked 5th out of 25 schools which participated.
In the DPS National Skating Championship, Dhruv Gupta (XI) repeated the history by winning 1st position, second year in the row. He clinched the Best Player Trophy, two gold medals in 300 mts. and 700 mts. rink and the Overall Championship Trophy for the school.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra applauded all students and encouraged them to keep up the good result in coming times. She also appreciated the coaches-Mr. Sudesh Manhas and Mr. Arnav Mahajan. Headmistres, Ms. Meenu Gupta also congratulated both the teams and their coaches.
Hon’ble President, RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh and Hon’ble PVC, Kunwrani Ritu Singh Ji and Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji extended their best wishes to the winners and their parents.
